Text Tutorial – How to get started

  1. Download the Mod:
  2. Prepare Your Mods Folder:
    • Back up any existing mods by renaming your current mods folder.
    • Create a new, clean mods folder if you don’t have one.
    • Open OpenIV, and ensure Edit Mode is enabled (blue button on the top-right).
  3. Main Installation:
    • Unzip the downloaded 5Real July (or latest version) folder. Inside, you’ll find several folders and files:
      • Add-ons
      • Main Installation Files
      • Real Graphics (Optional)
      • Realism Script (Recommended)
      • Text documents with important instructions.
    • Start with the Main Installation Files folder. This will have 17 parts that need to be installed in order.
      • Select Part 1 and drag it into OpenIV.
      • Choose to install it in the mods folder and confirm the installation.
      • Repeat this process for each part, from Part 1 through Part 17.
  4. Add-Ons Installation (Optional):
    • If desired, install add-ons such as:
      • Change Density (adjust vehicle/ped density),
      • LA Revo Satellite Map (update the minimap with a satellite view),
      • Less Gang Fights,
      • LSPDfr Compatibility,
      • FPS Boost, etc.
    • Simply drag and drop these add-ons into OpenIV, similar to the main installation files.
  5. Real Graphics Installation (Optional):
    • Open the Real Graphics Optional folder.
    • If you’re using ENB or ReShade, you can install their presets from the ENB or ReShade folders.
    • To install the 5Real Graphics Package, drag and drop it into OpenIV and install it in the mods folder.
  6. Realism Script Installation (Recommended):
    • Open the Realism Script folder.
    • Drag the OIV package into OpenIV.
    • Install this package in the game folder, not the mods folder.
  7. Final Steps:
    • Once all the files are installed, run the game.
    • You should notice changes such as a new HUD, real-world brand names on buildings, interactive restaurants, and many other immersive features.
